This study was carried out in the Madi area of Chitwan district in order to
explore and document the local knowledge on the utilization of major plant
resources by the Bote community. Five visits, over a period of four months
(January- April, 2006), were made to collect primary information based on ethno
-botanical tools, like key informants interview, field observation, transect
walk and survey. In the course of the study, 80 plants were reported to be used
to cure 50 different types of diseases/ disorders and the result revealed that
Bote people were dependent on forest resources used as medicines against many
diseases and pests.
