Keywords: Disinfection, cow dung, economic return
A study was conducted in CRD with six treatments and four replications in
Sericulture Development Office, Bhandara, Chitwan to assess the efficacy of
various disinfectants. The proportion of good cocoons of the experimental lot
was superior in cow dung slurry (332.89±45.12 gm) disinfected rearing rooms and
economic return was also the highest (Rs.6046.77/box) as compared to other
disinfectants. Hence, cow dung slurry plastering in proved to be the most
congenial environment for the larval health with increased growth rate and
quality cocoon production.
